Mochlos Blue sits on the edge of the village, a ten-minute walk from the small bay and tavernas, quiet enough to feel away from it all, close enough to enjoy everything Mochlos has to offer.
Wake up to the colours of the Aegean, step outside to the sound of the sea, and let the quiet rhythm of village life set the pace for the rest of the day. Mochlos is the kind of place people come back to.

About the village
The traditional settlement of Mochlos is one of the few surviving picturesque fishing villages of East Crete. Located on the north coastline, 30km east of Agios Nikolaos and 35km from Sitia, the village faces a small island that has been part of Mochlos life since the Minoan era.
Mochlos was among the most important centres of Minoan civilisation. Excavations have uncovered gold jewellery, clay pots, and stone vessels dating to the 18th century BC, now on display in the archaeological museums of Iraklio, Agios Nikolaos, and Sitia.
Today it is a quiet village with a scenic harbour, crystal-clear water, and the warm hospitality Cretans are known for, often accompanied by a carafe of raki.
Things to do
The village tavernas serve fresh fish and traditional Cretan food made with local olive oil. For a drink or coffee, visit the local cafes or our personal favorite Baraki. The village minimarket covers any daily essentials.
The surrounding bays are ideal for diving, fishing, water sports, and swimming (ask us for information) from pebble-and-sand beaches. Hikers and cyclists will find gorges, Minoan paths, wild herbs, remote chapels, and scenery of remarkable beauty.
